Description
The Necton War Memorial is situated in the churchyard extension of the Church of All Saints, which is a Grade I-listed building. It stands at the western end of the path leading from the churchyard entrance. The memorial features a rough-hewn grey granite obelisk set on a square plinth with a single step below. At the base of the memorial, there is a small polished granite plaque that is inclined on a small block.
The dedicatory inscription starts on the front face of the obelisk, stating "1914/ THEIR NAME LIVETH/ FOR EVERMORE/ 1918." This inscription continues on the plinth below, which reads "IN HONOUR OF THE MEN OF NECTON/ WHO FELL IN THE GREAT WAR 1914-1918/ (NAMES)/ 1939-1945/ (NAMES)." Additionally, the plaque at the foot of the memorial bears the inscription "NECTON/ ROYAL BRITISH LEGION/ 2000/ WE WILL REMEMBER/ THEM."
