Description
This is a house, originally built around 1600 and subsequently altered, now divided into two properties, Eastgate House and Park House. The building is constructed of colourwashed brick and flint, with a steeply-pitched pantile roof. It is approximately one and a half to two and a half storeys high and has an L-shape. The main two and a half-storey range features a flint gable wall with brick dressings, which returns on the east side. The windows are 20th-century casements set in altered openings. The central doorway is protected by a 19th-century porch. Platbands are visible at first floor level and at the springing line of the gable. Parapet gables are topped with moulded brick kneelers and finials. A large internal chimney stack is located on the north gable, featuring four octagonal shafts on moulded brick bases, alongside a small two-light first-floor window. A lower one and a half-storey range extends to the north, with two pantiled dormers and 20th-century casements in smaller openings. An internal stack is present at the north end of this section. A later range, built to the west of flint and with whitewashed brick dressings and a slate roof, also features. This contains 19th-century cross casements in chamfered brick reveals. A chimney stack on the north side of the ridge line has three diagonally-set shafts.
