Description
The Old Curatage is a rectory that has been converted into a private house. It dates from the late 18th century, with early 19th-century additions at the rear. The building is constructed of colourwashed brick and features a pantiled roof. It stands two storeys tall and has three bays. The central entrance consists of a panelled and fielded door, which is topped by an 8-vaned fanlight and a semi-circular hood supported by consoles. There are sash windows on both sides of the entrance, each with gauged skew back arches and glazing bars. The first floor has three similar sash windows. A timber eaves cornice runs along the roofline, which is hipped and has a bell-shaped base. The rear elevation is three storeys high and includes a 20th-century central door beneath a gauged skew back arch, along with various sash and casement windows. The kitchen range to the south has been altered in the 20th century and part of it has been converted into garages.
