Description
The former toll bridge, dated 1773, is located in the grounds of The Toll Bridge in Guist. It is constructed of red brick and features moulded brick coping along the parapets. The bridge has a single segmental arch, and on the downstream side's parapet, there is a large stone tablet inscribed with 'WN 1773', indicating William Norton as the local landowner. The former roadway transitions into a flight of steps near the house. One end of the upstream parapet connects to the house known as The Toll Bridge, which is not of special interest. The bridge remains largely unaltered and is shown on Faden's map of Norfolk from 1797.
