Description
Great Dunham Hall is an 18th-century farmhouse constructed of brick with a black pantiled roof. The building has two storeys with an attic and features seven bays of sash windows with glazing bars, all set under skewback arches. The arrangement of the windows follows a specific rhythm: three central bays are closely spaced, creating a pattern of abcbdbebebdbcba. The central bays on the ground floor have been altered; the original front door, which was centrally located, has been moved to the right, and one window has been widened while another has been suppressed. The entrance features a raised and fielded panelled door within an arched doorcase, topped by an open footed pediment supported by pilasters. The house has gable end stacks and an off-centre axial stack. At the rear, there is an added 18th-century lean-to with a catslide roof. Inside, several original raised and fielded panelled doors with L hinges remain.
