Description
The Manor House is a house that underwent late 17th century remodelling of a 16th century timber frame. It is constructed of red brick and features an old tile roof with two ridges. The building has four wood mullioned and transomed leaded casements, including a stair light, and presents a symmetrical five-window garden elevation with rubbed brick dressings and a floor band. The wood mullioned and transomed casements and door are topped with a scroll-bracketed hood. Inside, there is 17th century panelling on the southwest ground floor, along with 17th century doors and a central newel baluster staircase. The house was once owned by Sir William Parr, who was the brother of Catherine Parr, the last Queen of Henry VIII.
