Description
No. 47 Dixons Hill Close is a house dating from 1771, featuring a red brick casing with vitrified headers arranged in a chequer pattern. The building has a 17th-century core and a hipped plain tile roof. There are weatherboarded single-storey lean-tos on each side, and the house is two storeys tall. The mid-19th century has brought twin casement windows, with those on the ground floor having segmental heads. The central entrance features a plank door set in a simple wood frame. Inside, the house retains complete contemporary floors, partitions, and doors. The right end includes a 17th-century inglenook fireplace with a chamfer-stopped lintel and a bread oven, topped by a tall stack with two joined square shafts.
