Description
The main gates, octagonal lodge, walls, east lodge, and service gates to North Mymms Park were built between 1893 and 1894 by Sir Ernest George and Yates. The gates on the right feature elaborate wrought iron work, including central double gates and single side gates set within screens. They are adorned with large overthrows, grotesque decorations, and acanthus ornamentation. The stone gate piers are designed with banded Ionic pilasters and topped with scrolled ball finials.
On the left, there is a large octagonal lodge made of diapered red brick with stone dressings, standing two storeys tall. It has two and three-light mullioned windows with arched lights and a plain tile pyramid roof with a central stack. The wall to the left of the lodge includes miniature gablets at intervals. Further left is a simpler gate lodge featuring two gabled roofs and three-light windows. The group concludes with wooden service gates, flanked by brick gate piers banded in stone and topped with stone ball finials.
