Description
Church Cottage is a house that was originally a range of more than one house, dating from the early 17th century, with a later section added in the 17th century. The building features an exposed timber frame and plaster exterior, topped with a steeply pitched plain tile roof. A central square red brick chimney stack, which dates from the late 17th or early 18th century, rises from the roof. The house has two storeys and six windows facing the churchyard, with the right four located in the later section. Most of these windows are in original pegged oak frames, while the left windows have modern frames, although the early window spaces are still visible. Throughout the building, there are 20th-century leaded casements. The north gable end reveals a clasped purlin roof construction. On the first floor, there are two 17th-century square frames, with the left one featuring a 20th-century casement. Additionally, there is an 18th-century external stack on the east wall, next to a modern porch and extension.
