Description
Dog Kennel Cottages, also known as Cobwebs, is a house dating from the 17th century. It was cased and partially rebuilt in the 18th century, with alterations made in the 19th and 20th centuries. Originally timber framed, the building has been cased and partly replaced with red brick and features a tiled roof. The structure originally consisted of two bays and has a three-window front across two storeys.
The central entrance is flanked by timber glazing bar casements, with three lights to the left and two lights to the right. The ground floor openings have cambered heads, while the first floor features three-light casements flanking two-light windows. The building has dentilled brick eaves and a steeply pitched roof. To the right, there is a one-storey garage outshut on a 19th-century brick return wall, and the left return has a flint plinth. At the rear, there is an original extruded stack with a rebuilt cap, and the roof has been raised, with a 20th-century rear outshut.
Inside, there is a stop-chamfered binding beam and jowled posts.
