Description

The White Horse Public House is a building that likely originated in the 16th century. It was largely rebuilt in the 17th century, cased in the 18th century, and extended in the 19th and 20th centuries. The structure features a timber frame that is rendered and partially brick cased, topped with a tiled roof. The building consists of an early two-bay cross wing on the right and a two-bay lobby entry main range that was rebuilt in the 17th century. Both sections are two storeys high.

The central entrance is adorned with a raking hood, and there are four-light casement windows on the ground floor flanking the entrance. The first floor has two three-light casement windows, all of which have leaded lights. The roof is steeply pitched and includes an original axial cruciform stack. The roof hipped down to the right over the lower cross wing, which has a brick cased ground floor. On the right return, there is a ground floor horizontal sliding sash window and an entrance towards the rear. To the left of the main range, there is a 19th-century one-storey and attic wing with a four-light casement, an entrance, and a hipped dormer. A 20th-century wing is located at the rear of the cross wing.

Inside, the ground floor features stop-chamfered binding beams and exposed posts, while the first floor has not been inspected.
