Description
This is a barn and outbuildings dating from the 17th or 18th century, located about 15 meters south of Bourzuei in Pimlico, Abbots Langley. The barn features a timber frame set on a brick base, is weatherboarded, and has a tiled roof. It consists of six bays, with a lean-to addition that has a slate roof facing the yard. There are three lower doors and three double loft doors on the side away from the yard. Inside, the barn has queen strut to collar clasping purlin trusses and braces in the walling.
Attached to the end of the barn closer to the house is a long range of outbuildings that enclose the yard, built in the 19th century. These outbuildings are made of stock brick and weatherboarding facing the yard, and flint with red brick dressings facing the road. The roofs are tiled and slated. The main range has seven bays, with two weatherboarded bays added to the left and one flint bay to the right, both having lower slate roofs. The entrances and windows feature cambered heads, and there is an entrance in a one bay addition facing the road, with brick quoins and eaves bands.
