Description
Kingsbury Mill is a complex of late 17th century and 18th century buildings located on St Michael's Street. The main mill building, situated on the right, is two storeys high with a gabled end facing the road. It features a high-pitched tiled roof, weatherboarded gable, and a brick facade with a string course at the first floor and a substantial brick plinth. There are two 2-light casement windows in flush box frames under segmental brick arches on each floor, along with a central loading door on the first floor and a Dutch door below. Inside, the roof includes arch-braced tie beams, queen posts, and collar beams. A mill race flows under the tiled building, with the wheel positioned laterally in the center. The old loading and grinding machinery appears to be complete.
To the left, there is an 18th century section that is also two storeys high, featuring three windows under twin gables, which adjoins the main mill. This section has a moderately pitched tiled roof, weatherboarded gables, and a red brick front decorated with diaper and diamond patterns of blue headers. It also has a brick string course at the first floor and a brick plinth. The sash windows, which have glazing bars (except for one modern window on the first floor left), are in flush box frames under shallow segmental brick arches. There is a later door at the center of the ground floor, and several weatherboarded extensions are present at the rear.
