Description
Appspond is a pair of houses that were originally one long house or a cottage range, dating from the 16th and 17th centuries, with alterations made around 1950. The structure is timber framed with plastered walls and a plain tile roof. The front (east) side features continuous additions from around 1950 that imitate timber framing and include leaded casements. The building is two storeys on the northern side and single storey on the southern side. The rear elevation has one storey and attics, with three dormers that are tile-hung and date from the 17th or 18th century. The windows include 19th and 20th-century glazing bar casements. Inside, the building consists of four bays. The northern bay is from the late 17th century and has a slightly taller roof with a large chimney stack at the join. The middle two bays are from the late 16th or early 17th century, while the southern bay is likely from the 17th century.
