Description

Mile-post located opposite Beeson End Lane, dating from the mid-19th century. It was made by Brown and Green in Luton. The mile-post is a white-painted cast iron structure, triangular in shape and open at the back. It features two faces with raised Roman-style lettering indicating distances: 3 miles to St Albans and 7 miles to Luton. The top face shows a distance of 24 miles to London.
