Description
129 and 131 Verulam Road is a pair of houses built in the earlier to mid-19th century, each with three storeys and a basement, featuring two windows. The buildings are constructed of yellow brick with some red brick dressings. They have stuccoed giant pilasters that rise from basement plinths to an entablature with a slightly raised blocking course at the center. The sash windows are adorned with stucco architraves and glazing bars. There is a band at the cills of the first-floor windows, and the ground floor windows have cornices supported by console brackets and bracketed cills. Access to the doors is via seven steps leading up to plain, prostyle porches that have altered parapets.
