Description
No 2 Church Lane is a house that was formerly a butcher's premises. It has a front dating from the late 17th century and consists of two bays, with the possibility of an earlier core. The building features a timber frame with roughcast infill and has a large north gable end stack from the late 17th century. There is a smaller late 17th-century extension and a 19th-century red brick addition at the rear. The main part of the house is one storey with attics, featuring two 19th-century casement windows and two gabled dormers. The entrance has a plank door set in an early 19th-century moulded frame, complete with scroll brackets and a flat hood. There is also evidence of a rear cross wing.
