Description

This is an early 16th-century hall house with cross wings, later divided into two properties, The Little Priory and Brewers Cottage. The eastern cross wing, now modified, dates to the 16th century, while the western cross wing is larger and was constructed in the mid-17th century. The building is largely clad in late 19th-century red brick. The western cross wing retains exposed timber framing and pargeting, along with a substantial red brick chimney stack featuring two diagonal shafts. The roof is covered with plain tiles. The house is one storey in height with attics. Windows are 19th-century wooden casements, and there are two 17th-century gabled dormers. An early 17th-century chimney stack was inserted into the hall, set within a 16th-century smoke bay, with two shafts joined on the ridge. A tall 17th-century stack is located on the rear of the eastern side. The western end has a catslide roof.
