Description

Horseshoe Cottage is a house from the early 18th century that was renovated by the estate in the mid-19th century. It features red brick with a chequered pattern of black headers, along with a red brick porch and a rear outshut beneath a catslide extension of an old steep red tile roof. This small two-cell, two-storey house is set on a bank above the road and faces west. Inside, the south gable chimney suggests that originally only one room and possibly the chamber above were heated. The west front has two windows on each floor and a central entrance with a six-panel door under a gabled porch. The casement windows have been renewed.
