Description

The Lilley Arms is an 18th-century public house, believed to date from 1735, with later additions to the south. It is constructed of red brick, painted white, with steep red tile roofs. The building has an L-shape, facing east, with a lower gabled wing at the northwest, containing living quarters. There is an internal north gable stack to the north part of the building, and a projecting rear wall chimney to the south. The front of the building has a plat band and segmental arches over the ground-floor windows. It has four windows to the first floor and three to the ground floor, featuring flush box sash windows with 6/6 panes. A canted bay window with a moulded cornice is located to the right of the entrance. The roof has overhanging verges, and the rear wing has an internal chimney and external shutters to the west window.
