Description
27 and 28 Sun Street is a building dating from around 1800, standing three stories tall and constructed of red brick. The roof is concealed by a parapet, and the facade features four windows set in shallow reveals. The ground floor of No 27 boasts an impressive shop front, featuring a large broad window with curving corners flanking a central door. Above this is a broad frieze suitable for lettering, topped by a very shallow hood. Just below the top window of No 27, there is a large label with raised letters stating 'PRINTING OFFICE'. No 28 has a simple canted bay window with a lightly moulded hood, and a door with six fielded panels beneath a simple fanlight and hood. The shop front of No 27, along with the adjacent doorway of No 28, is accented by a series of slender reeded panels, each ending in small roundels. Nos 13 to 34 Sun Street form a group.
