Description
Walkers is a house that likely dates from the late 16th century and was extended and altered in the 19th century. It has a timber frame that has been extended and partially cased in brick, with a rendered and colourwashed finish. The roof is tiled. Originally, the house had three cells with a lobby entry, and it has been extended with a parallel range at the rear. The building is two storeys high. The entrance is located to the right of the centre and features 19th-century plain pilaster strips with moulded brackets supporting a plain hood. On either side of the entrance are recessed 16-pane sash windows. The first floor, which was probably originally jettied, has three flush frame 16-pane sash windows. A 16th-century axial ridge stack has three octagonal flues and has been partially rebuilt. There are double gable returns with end stacks on the lower 19th-century rear range, and a lean-to outshut is present on the right end.
