Description
Hoo Farm Lodge is a 18th-century gatelodge that served The Hoo, which has since been demolished. It is constructed of painted brick and features a steep old red tile hipped roof. The building has a moulded stucco dentilled eaves cornice. This two-storey rectangular lodge has a central chimney and a small lean-to porch at the north end. The main facade facing the drive on the south end includes a central door flanked by small narrow windows, with a large round arched recess above. A projecting plat band encircles the building. There is a segmental-headed sash window at the top of the arched recess. Both the east and west sides of the building feature a tall arched recess in the southern half, with the plat band at impost level. Above this recess, there is a 3/6 panes sash window, and below it, recessed sash windows are placed under segmental arches on both floors in the northern half. The lodge also has a continuous chamfered plinth and a Victorian wall letter-box set into the front wall.
