Description

This is a house, originally possibly four separate dwellings, now used as two. The core of the building dates back to the 17th century or earlier, with a south crosswing reconstructed in the late 18th century using brick. The main range is timber-framed and roughcast, with the ground floor clad in red brick. The south wing is constructed of red and blue brick in a Flemish bond pattern to the exterior. The roof is steeply pitched, covered in old red tiles, with a hipped form on the south wing.

The property is L-shaped, facing east, and features a higher south crosswing extending to the rear (west). The main range has four small two-light casement windows on the first floor, and larger two-light windows to the ground floor, alongside several blocked doorways. A large internal chimney, located a quarter of the way from the crosswing on the front roof slope, has pilaster strips. The south wing has a corbelled eaves band with projecting brick headers, and three windows to the ground floor and two to the first floor. A central recess incorporates a Phoenix fire insurance mark. Casement windows are present throughout, and a former central entrance has been converted into a window.
