Description

Wynne's Almhouses, dated 1621, were founded by London merchant John Wynne and are located on the south-west side of High Street. The building is constructed of red brick with stone dressing and features a steeply pitched tiled roof, which has six gabled dormers and three tall chimneystacks with restored shafts. The original footings are made of narrow bricks. This structure consists of one storey and attics, with six mullioned triple light casement windows. Each dwelling has an arched doorway set in a gabled closed porch, which also features bargeboards. The windows are adorned with dripmoulds, and the doorways have imposts and keyblocks.
