Description
The stone tank located in front of the south front at Putteridge Bury is an early 20th-century feature designed by Edwin Lutyens as part of the garden layout in collaboration with Gertrude Jekyll. It is constructed from dressed limestone and includes a paved edging that surrounds a large reflective pool. The tank is rectangular in shape, with semi-circular recesses at both the north and south ends, which are highlighted by rectangular raised stone plinths. The stone paving has a rounded overhanging edge, and the ends feature radial joints.
