Description
The barn at Manor Farm, built in 1786 and inscribed with "E.F. Farmer" on the tie beam to the right of the entrance, is an aisled structure. It features a timber frame that is weatherboarded, a brick plinth, and a slate gambrel roof. The barn has four bays and includes a large projecting gabled threshing bay to the north, located in the third bay from the road. There is a single window opening in the gable end wall facing the road. The design includes a straight tie beam truss with curved struts supporting clasped purlins, longitudinal curved braces from the arcade plates to the posts, and lateral braces from the tie beams to lightly jowled posts. Additionally, braced aisle tie beams connect the wall plates to the arcade posts.
