Description

The Coningesby Monuments are a pair of chest tombs located about 2 meters east of the Church of St. John the Baptist in Aldenham. They commemorate J. Coningesby, who died in 1697, and his wife, who died in 1719. The tombs are constructed of ashlar and feature panelled long sides. The eastern faces have S-curved sides adorned with arms in wreaths, which are depicted in relief. Inscribed slabs are placed on top of the tombs.
