Description

Laurel Cottage is a pair of houses dating from around 1840. The houses are built of rendered brick, with a slate roof. They are constructed in the Gothic style, with two floors and two windows, plus a central entrance to each house. Each house has enclosed gabled porches featuring four-centred entrance arches and hood moulds with mask stops. The porches have wavy bargeboards with decorative drops. On the ground floor, slightly projecting bays have gabled heads and glazing bar sash windows set in chamfered reveals, also with square hood moulds and mask stops. The first floor windows have four-centred heads. The eaves have wavy bargeboards with drops. Central and slightly projecting end stacks are present. The render on one house (No. 93) has been scored to resemble ashlar. There are garage additions to the sides. To the rear, windows are set in reveals. The interior has not been inspected.
