Description
Rookery House is a house dating from the 17th century, with alterations made in the 18th century and the 1930s. It is a two-storey, timber-framed building that is plastered and features a steep old red tiled hipped roof. The house has a central chimney and a three-unit plan, which has been extended by one bay to include an additional central chimney. There is a lean-to stair wing opposite the chimney and a two-storey hipped roof extension. The 17th-century framing is exposed, and the southern end wall is constructed with English-bond red brickwork that includes blue headers. The windows are 18th-century casements. Inside, there are axial ceiling beams that are chamfered with ogee steps.
