Description
The outbuildings at The Plume of Feathers public house, located 20 metres north of the pub, date from the 18th century. They form a charming range of timber-framed, weatherboarded structures along the north side of the yard, featuring steep gabled roofs covered with pantiles. The central building is a one and a half storey, two-bay cow house with a loft above. To the west, there is a single storey lean-to with a pantiled roof, and to the east, a lower single storey stable with a pitched roof. In 1849, these buildings were described as "a capital Yard with stable, Cow-house and loft, etc" in the sale particulars of the Gilston Park Estate. They contribute to the picturesque character of the group that includes the public house on the corner.
