Description
No 30 Eastwick Road is a house dating from the late 17th century. It is a long, one and a half storey, timber-framed building that is plastered and faces west. The house features a low brick plinth and dry-dashed walls, topped by a steep old red tile gabled roof with a central chimney that has two flues, positioned one third from the north gable.
There is a small gabled dormer on the wall plate to the right of the chimney, which sits above a three-light casement window for the middle room. The house has a three-unit plan, with a service room at the south end that is axially divided. The chimney is located at the upper end, although the parlour fireplace may have been added later. The door appears to have been relocated northward.
The front of the house has three windows: two-light windows at each end and a three-light window in the middle room, with a plank door located under a dripboard to the right. This building is an interesting late example of the three-unit plan found in roadside timber-framed houses and is part of a picturesque group at Pye Corner.
