Description
Fiddlers Bridge is a footbridge dating from the 18th or 19th century, located over Fiddlers' Brook at Pye Corner. It is constructed from small red brick and measures about 5 feet wide. The bridge features two unequal round arches made up of two rings of headers, with the smaller and older arch on the north side having a higher springing. The main span has a three-centred arch made of darker brick. The bridge is supported by angled abutment walls and is finished with a white post and three-rail balustrade. This footbridge is an interesting architectural feature and adds a picturesque element to views when approaching Pye Corner from the south, particularly as it serves as a foreground to Fiddlers Cottage.
