Description

No. 27 Eastwick Road is a house built in 1864, as indicated by the quatrefoil datestone on the front gable. This picturesque Gothic-style building is one and a half storeys tall and constructed from red brick, as part of the Gilston Park Estate under John Hodgson. It features a single storey range with a large cross wing on the west side. The steep roofs are covered with old red tiles and have heavy moulded bargeboards. Tall chimneys with moulded caps and bases add to its character. The house has 2-light tall mullioned wooden windows fitted with cast iron lattice casements, which are topped with gauged flat arches and have flush stone sills. This interesting Gothic estate house is part of a group facing the Plume of Feathers public house.
