Description
The Rectory, located 60 meters to the west of the church, is a vicarage built around 1846, likely designed by Anthony Salvin. It was constructed for Dame Louisa Giles Puller of Youngsbury, coinciding with the establishment of a new ecclesiastical district in 1845 that included the church and school. The building is made of red brick with a red tile roof that is hipped at the east. It is two storeys high and features three windows on the south-facing side, with a gabled wing on the left and the entrance on the west. The red brickwork is laid in English bond and includes black diaper patterns. Notable architectural details include a chamfered plinth, a floor band, and bargeboards with pendants. The upper windows are two-light casements with flat gauged arches and chamfered cornices, while the tall lower openings have similar heads and are flanked by windows beside French doors. These windows feature decorative glazing bars arranged in squares and octagons within mullioned and transomed three-light configurations. The building has projecting chimneys at each end and at the rear, all topped with tall separate square shafts. The west side has a stone chamfered Tudor arched doorway, which is adorned with triple sunk panels above and a narrow stone window to the left. There is a two-storey brick and tile rear extension that is not of special interest. The Rectory is included for its group value.
