Description

Ermine Cottage is a house dating from the 17th century, with a brick front added in the 18th century. It features a timber frame that is weatherboarded, with painted brick facing at the front and the south end. The house has a steep old red tile roof and is two storeys tall, with a single-storey rear lean-to outshut. The layout consists of a two-room plan with end chimneys, and there are internal gable chimneys, with the southern one likely being a later addition. The asymmetrical brick front has dentilled eaves and includes two small two-light casement windows on the first floor. The ground floor has three similar windows with segmental arches, two of which are located to the left of the door, which features a broad frame and a flat hood supported by shaped brackets.
