Description
The South Barn at Knights Hill Farm, located 65 meters to the west-northwest of the house, is a barn dating from the early 18th century, with alterations made in the early 19th century. It features a timber frame set on a stepped red brick sill and is covered with dark weatherboarding. This barn is notable for its unusually wide span, consisting of seven tall bays without aisles, and it faces north. The middle bay has opposed double doors. The structure includes unjowled posts and long curved braces supporting the tie-beams. Mid-height rails are tennoned in-line, and there is a single purlin on each slope of the queen-strut and collar roof.
