Description
Collett Lodge is a lodge built in 1888 to serve Collett House, which is not included in this listing. The lodge features a brick ground floor and a studded and pebbledashed upper floor, with a brick chimneystack that has projecting diagonally set ribs and oversailing courses. The roof is machine tiled and the building is designed in the Arts and Crafts Tudor style. It is a single storey structure with attics.
On the ground floor, there are mullion and transom windows with lattice leaded glazing and metal opening casements. There are canted bay windows on the left side (west elevation) and on the right side of the south elevation, which faces the road, both beneath an oversailing first floor supported by timber brackets. The entrance is located on the west elevation, featuring a door within a projecting timber studded porch that has a gabled tiled roof. The first floor has pebbledashed infill panels, a projecting oriel window with lattice leaded glazing supported by wooden brackets on the right, and a dormer on the left with a mullion and transom window, also with lattice leaded glazing, topped by a gabled tiled roof. The lodge forms a group with the gates and railings nearby.
