Description
The gates, lanterns, and railings to Collett Lodge were built around 1888 to mark the private drive leading to Collett House, following the removal of the public right of way to the north. They are made of wrought iron and feature a pair of carriage gates adorned with scrollwork at the top. The gates are flanked by box piers that also have scrollwork inserts and are topped with curved scrollwork brackets that hold square glazed lanterns, which originally contained gas burners, and have curved tops with circular finials. There are pedestrian gates on either side of the carriage gates. The railings have spear uprights and are reinforced by ogee braces at intervals; on the left, they connect to the garden wall of Collett House, while on the right, they extend across the front of Collett Lodge.
