Description
The implement shed at Walkern Hall Farm, located 65 meters to the northwest of the house, dates from the early 19th century and is now used for housing corn drying equipment. It features a timber frame set on a low brick sill and is dark weatherboarded with a steeply pitched slated roof that extends down over the northern aisle at the rear. The shed is three bays tall and has a single aisle, facing south with an open arcaded front. It is supported by unjowled posts with long curved braces connecting to cambered tie beams, and arched braces to the arcade-plate and the open front bays. Each arcade post has an aisle-collar that springs from its back. The roof is a clasped-purlin design with collar and angle struts in each truss, making it an elegant structure.
