Description
The barn and shelter shed at Moor Hall Farm, located 50 meters to the north-northwest of the farmhouse, date from the early 19th century. The structures feature a timber frame set on a tarred brick sill, with weatherboarding and slate roofs, the barn having a hipped roof. They are part of a courtyard of farm buildings that are open to the south where the farmhouse is situated.
The north side is dominated by a tall, ten-bay double barn with a wide span of about 9 meters, which includes two pairs of double doors on the south side and pitching doors at a high level at the rear. The barn has unjowled posts connected by a mid-height rail, and long curved braces supporting the tie beams. The clasped-purlin roof is boarded below the purlin and features both king-post and queen-post supports.
At the northeast, there is a two-storey shelter shed that is open below to the yard, with a weatherboarded hay loft situated above. These two buildings are the most notable in the contemporary arrangement of the farm's structures.
