Description
Kimpton Cottage is a house dating from the 17th century or early 18th century, which was divided in the 19th century but is now a single residence. It features a timber frame set on a stucco sill, with roughcast walls and weatherboarded ends, topped by a steep thatched roof. The house is two storeys high and has a three-cell layout with end chimneys, facing south. At the rear, there is a slated outshot under a catslide roof.
The eastern side has a large external red brick gable chimney, while the western side has a smaller internal red brick chimney. The south front has three windows on each floor and two doors, with small inclined hoods above the lower windows and doors. The windows are 19th-century two-light flush casements. The main door on the western part has four panels, and the door on the eastern part is a plank door featuring a heart-shaped pierced escutcheon with 'TL' flanking the keyhole. There are stone sheds at each end of the property, but these are not of special interest.
