Description

The Cottage is a house that dates from the 17th century or earlier, with alterations made in the early 19th century. It features a timber frame resting on a stucco sill, with a roughcast exterior and a steep thatched roof. There is a lean-to porch with a tiled roof and wings. The house is two stories tall and has three main sections, facing north. It includes a large central chimney located a third of the way from the east end and a very large external gable chimney at the west end, which has crow steps and an oven beneath a weatherboarded lean-to. The upper floor has four flush box sash windows with moulded surrounds and 8/8 panes. The ground floor has four windows that have been renewed, and the entrance door is located a third of the way from the west end.
