Description

Wayside Cottage is a house dating from the 17th century or early 18th century. It features a timber frame set on a stuccoed black sill, with plastered walls and a steep thatched roof, along with a red tiled outshut. The house is two storeys high and has a two-cell, central-chimney, lobby-entry plan, facing north. There are two windows on each floor, positioned beside a trellis porch that leads to a four-panel door. The windows are generally flush casement, with two-light windows on the ground floor, a three-light window on the first floor to the right, and a two-light Yorkshire sliding casement window on the first floor to the left. The cottage is prominently located at the start of the village green.
