Description
The walled gardens located about 30 meters north of Marden Hill House were constructed around 1790 for R. Mackay. These kitchen garden walls are made of red brick and form a large rectangle measuring approximately 75 meters by 55 meters, with a fruit garden enclosure measuring about 35 meters by 10 meters situated closer to the house. The walls stand between 3 meters and 4 meters high and feature a triangulated brick and tile coping.
On the south side, facing the house, there is a segmental headed entrance with a timber gate, along with additional openings to the west. The entrance to the fruit garden has a round head and brick quoins, with a rounded corner on the right side. To the northwest of the gardens, there are weatherboarded stables with a slate roof.
