Description
The Place is a house from the 18th century, featuring a shallow two-storey rear outshut. It has a timber frame set on a low brick plinth, with roughcast walls and a weatherboarding apron remaining at the rear. The roof is steep and tiled. The house is designed with a two-storey, two-cell layout and a central chimney, with a lobby entry facing south. At the eastern end, there is a single-storey dairy lean-to. The eastern room includes a wider fireplace with an oven, and a staircase is located to the north of the stack. The western room, which serves as a parlour, has a smaller fireplace. The symmetrical front of the house features two windows on each floor and a central door. The windows are two-light Yorkshire sliding flush casements with small panes and drip boards. The central door is a four-panel flush beaded type with a heavy frame and a flat hood supported by shaped brackets. Inside, there are chamfered axial floor beams. The building was formerly known as Flanders Green Farm.
