Description
The Manor House is a house that has been converted into offices. It dates from the 18th century and was altered and extended in the early 19th century. The building is constructed of grey gault brick and features a half-hipped slated gambrel roof. It has two storeys and attics, with a double-pile layout and a central entrance. The house, which is plain in style, faces east and is set back from the street, with a central staircase located at the rear.
The front of the house has five windows on the upper floor, with a parapet that conceals a central attic window cut into the roof. The windows are recessed sash windows with 6/6 panes and plastered reveals, all under flat gauged arches. The wide central entrance is round-headed and flanked by fluted Ionic three-quarter columns, topped with a full entablature that has a modillioned cornice and elongated corner volutes on the capitals. The entrance features a panelled door with narrow sidelights and an ornamental radial grille above the fanlight. There is a three-window, two-storey north wing that is set back, and a smaller south wing that includes a central glazed lantern.
