Description
No 29 is a house that has been converted into a shop. It dates back to the 17th century, with a rear block from the early 18th century, a shopfront from the 19th century, and a north extension from the 20th century that is in keeping with the original design. The building features a timber frame that is roughcast, topped with old red tile roofs. The rear block is made of red brick and roughcast, while the north extension has a tiled roof with a slated catslide at the back.
The structure is a two-storey T-plan house that faces east, with a taller rectangular rear block added. The front has four flush sash windows that are irregularly spaced on the first floor, and a projecting shopfront consisting of two rectangular bays of unequal depth, connected by a hood to a central door. The shopfront includes a fascia, a moulded cornice, and segmental-headed lights. The roughcast rear block, which faces west, has three windows and a central door, along with a projecting end chimney on the south side and two cross-windows set flush on the north end.
