Description
Little Fanhams is a house that possibly dates back to the 16th century, with an early 17th-century chimney. The building was extended at the rear in the early 19th century and partly rebuilt after a fire in the 20th century. An Arts and Crafts carved wooden plaque on the east front displays the date '1590'. The exterior features half-timbering with fan-pargetting in panels and a red brick ground floor laid in English bond. It has a steep old red tile roof and a tall diagonally set cruciform central brick chimney. The east front is asymmetrical and two stories high, with a gabled wing on the right and a central door set in a Tudor arch. The windows include two-light and three-light leaded casements. Inside, the right-hand ground floor room retains old ceiling joists.
