Description
29 Castle Street is a house that has been converted into offices. It dates from the early 18th century and has undergone some alterations in the 20th century. The building is timber-framed and plastered, with a rear outshut made of yellow stock brick in Flemish bond, featuring red dressings. The roof is machine tiled and has a bold coved cornice, along with red and yellow brick chimneys, one of which is located on the rear outshut and has bold oversailing courses.
The exterior of the building consists of two storeys and attics. On the first floor, there are three flush-set 12-pane sash windows with architrave surrounds. The ground floor features a single-storey Welsh-slated hipped lean-to on the left, two slightly recessed sashes with weatherboard heads, and a central modern six-panel door set in a slim surround topped with a pediment hood supported by thin cut profiled brackets. The roof includes two front box casement dormers with segmental tops. The interior has not been inspected.
